Fall Fun
This fall has been very busy with soccer season, family visits, fairs and pumpkin hayrides. The kids are growing up so quickly and I feel like we all need to slow down and savor each moment a little more.
Cousin Jared came up for the OSU game with Zak and that is always a treat to get to spend time with him. My parents came to town for a good visit and we snuck in a trip to the hayride down the street from our house. I love my mom's face when she realized that we would be doing a muddy descent into a huge waterpit on this hayride! It is also nice to have grandparents along when every child decides they NEED to use the porta potty at the farm before we can leave. :-)
Logan did wonderful this soccer season. He is quickly understanding what it takes to be a team player. His team made it through the semi-finals this year with only one loss. They even went into overtime with an additional kick-off to move up. Unfortunatley, their team lost the kick-off on the second round but they had just a great season overall! Nate is absolutely awesome at soccer. He is fast and quick with his feet. He is agressive in the right kind of way, but he also shows an amazing ability to be a team mate. He could have easily dominated every game but he took it upon himself to make sure that he helped his team members get a goal each time too. I love this kid's heart! His best moment this season, was calling out to Grandma as he ran down the field and scored a goal, "THIS IS FOR YOU GRAMMY!" Olivia was all over the map with her soccer. If she was in the mood, she made goals. If not, she kicked dirt, socialized with the little girls, and batted her eyes at the umpires. Watching three year olds play soccer is always a crap shoot but she loved it (and her pink shoes) and wants to play again next year.
The Ohio Renassiance fair is held every year just down the road from our town. We decided to check it out this year. The kids enjoyed all the plays, jousting, and interative fun at the fair. Zak and I were fasinated by the number of adults who came fully costumed to attend. My favorite part though were some of the pirate themed singing troupes that were there for the weekend. Olivia loved that everyone refered to her as "my lady" and bowed on bended knee to her when she passed.
