Saturday Travels

On Saturday we had planned to go to a baby store and try out strollers and then drive to the nearby (our directions said it was about 4 min. away) Metro Lake Farmpark for Logan to see the farm animals. For once, Tom Tom lead us astray. As we wandered through Euclid, we realized that the shopping center we were directed to couldn't possibly be next to a huge farm. So after calling the place and getting directions, we found that we'd have to go another 30 minutes in the opposite direction to get there. Well, with a toddler, and quickly approaching nap time, we decided to head back towards the city and take him somewhere else. We gave him the choice of stopping at the science center or going to the zoo. He picked the science center so off we went. Wouldn't you know it, once we got down there, it was overrun with people who were there for the X-Games on the waterfront. (No parking to be found!!) So, determined to do something fun for him since we had promised and he had behaved in the baby store, we pressed on to the zoo. It was already past nap time and a good 87+ degrees with humidity outside, but we did the rain forest and Logan's favorite animals before dragging our tired selves back to the car. It was probably the most round about trip the zoo we have ever taken but we were glad to have done something fun with the boy on Zak's day off. The summer theme at the zoo is Hogs, Dogs, and Frogs. Logan takes every oppertunity to sit on the brightly painted frogs throughout the park.
Zak insisted on taking pictures of me. I'd rather not see myself in print at this moment of pregency, but oh well!

Logan and Zak were watching the warthogs chase each other around the pin and butt heads. Logan says to Zak, "That's like when Daddy pushes me!" hmmm...
